The background of our web page honors one of the most courageous and extraordinary events of the Vietnam War, the Son Tay Raid. Depicted in the background and above, the raiders, led by Captain Dick Meadows, deploy from the HH-3 helicopter "Blueboy" which has crash landed in the prison compound. The images were developed from the original painting "The Raid, Blue Boy Element" by Mikhail Nikiporenko.
