Duty-Free. Guam's unique duty-free status means that import tariffs are not added on many quality international brand name products such as watches, perfumes, leather, spirits and other luxury items, making prices are significantly lower than shoppers would normally pay. Also, a traveler returning to the United States mainland via Guam can bring in double the value of foreign-made goods duty free as long as at least half of this amount was purchased on Guam.
